My concept for this project was to make myself into three different horror figures, alien, robot, and ghost/demon through self-portraiture. This project I shot digitally on the Pentax after I did not love how my roll of film came out. I used and led light and started shooting my shadow in different ways. I rolled up pieces of paper and taped them so I could extend my fingers to get my shadow to look more alien. I edited this shot to be the classic alien green color so that the intention would come across more. Next, I started working with a ripped sheet that I had to have pieces of my face peeking through. I played with the curves when editing this one and landed on blue which gave more a digitized feeling. I felt like it needed a pop of red so I overlayed a box over my eye which I think helped it read more as a robot which a glowing red eye. Finally, I was shooting straight on portraits of myself with pins in my mouth going in and out of focus. I chose one that was out of focus because the pins made me look less human and then I edited it to look like I had no eyes for an undead or ghostly feeling.
