This project was a performance of the rural American image, inspired by Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter”. The album tells a story of reclamation and as a queer person these areas in America aren’t always the safest to be in, so we tend to adopt the aesthetics that big cities provide. In this I am playing a character of the classic American man. Taking the image of traditional masculinity and queering as way to critique it is what I wanted to do with this project.
